Ever wondered where the name Layla Joelle came from? Discover the heart behind our family-owned business and the special story of the rescue dogs who inspired our name. Learn how a love for creativity, family, and community helped shape Layla Joelle Studios into the business it is today.
One of the questions we get asked the most is:
"Who is Layla Joelle?"
The answer always makes people smile.
Layla Joelle isn't one person—it's actually a combination of two very special names.
Our business is named after our two rescue dogs, Layla and Joelle.
When it came time to name the business, I wanted something that felt personal. I didn't want a name that sounded like a big company or a generic print shop. I wanted it to represent the people (and pups!) that make our house feel like home.
Layla and Joelle have been part of our family through every step of this journey.
They were there when I opened my first online shop on Zazzle while planning my wedding.
They were there when I launched my Etsy shop and started making custom hockey garment bags.
They've "supervised" countless late nights designing shirts, cutting vinyl, pressing orders, and packing boxes.
If you've ever worked from home with dogs, you know they somehow manage to be involved in everything!
More Than a Business Name
Choosing the name Layla Joelle Studios was about more than honoring our dogs.
It was about building a business that feels personal.
We're not a huge corporation.
We're a family-owned small business that truly cares about every customer, every school, and every order.
When you email us, you're talking to the person designing your shirts.
When you ask for a design change, you're working directly with the person creating it.
That personal connection is something we've never wanted to lose.
A Business That Grew Alongside Our Family
What started as a creative side project has grown into something we never imagined.
We've had the privilege of designing spirit wear for schools, creating apparel for youth sports teams, working with PTAs and PTOs, and helping communities show their school pride.
Every order has helped our small business grow, and every customer has become part of our story.
And Then Came Puck...
Our family has grown over the years, and so has our pack.
Today, we also have our energetic pup, Puck, who has quickly become the newest unofficial member of Layla Joelle Studios.
He's always nearby, making sure every package is "inspected" before it heads out the door—usually in hopes of finding a treat!
